Instagram is an amazing place for explorers, athletes, photographers, and some who defy categorization. Whether you’re looking for inspiration, entertainment, or trip ideas, these adventure Instagram accounts have it.
1. Mike Horn @mikehornexplorer
When the first words on your Instagram bio are “Professional Explorer, Survival Expert” and no one would dare argue that those aren’t 100% accurate, you’re the real deal. Mike recently completed the first ever unsupported, solo north-to-south crossing of Antarctica, posting updates on Instagram along the way. Other accomplishments include walking to the North Pole during the dark season and circumnavigating the globe at the equator by himself without use of motorized vehicles. With more exciting adventures planned for the future, Mike Horn is an obvious choice for our adventure Instagram accounts worth following.
2. Wim Hof @iceman_hof
Nicknamed “The Iceman”, Wim Hof is famous for exploring the limits of the human body, especially the ability to withstand extremely cold temperatures. Second, he has stayed immersed in ice for 1 hour, 52 minutes. Lastly, he is famous for running a marathon above the arctic circle in only shorts, and running another marathon in the Namib Desert without water. Hof attributes his abilities to special breathing techniques and meditation that have been well-documented by doctors and researchers. Definitely in a class of his own, Wim is certainly a no-brainer for our adventure Instagram accounts to follow.
